Welcome to

Oakerthorpe Holiday Village

First opened its doors in 2012 with one property known as Amber Lodge. Proving a great success, owner Vic Fell went about converting the other properties connected to Amber Mill Farm into a Holiday Village which now consists of 8 Holiday Lets ranging from 2 bedrooms to 9 bedrooms, with the last property being completed in December 2024.

New for 2026: The Social Room

We are pleased to introduce our brand new Social Room, available for all guests to enjoy. With complimentary teas and coffees, pool table, dart board, air hockey table, karaoke machine and more, it offers a relaxed space for guests to unwind during their stay.

Petting Park & Animals

Taking advantage of his farming roots and his love for animals, especially the feathered variety, a petting park within the walled Orchard of the farm was created. This includes a variety of animals including geese, ducks, bantams, quail, alpacas, goats, rhea (small ostrich), peacocks, sheep and meerkats, proving very popular with younger guests.

Guests can help Farmer Vic at feeding times and collect eggs from the chickens throughout the year except during the Christmas period, as well as fruit picking when seasonal.

Play Park & Family Facilities

A fully fenced play park for safety consists of swings, slide, climbing frame and playhouse, canoe and full sized Massey Ferguson tractor. Children’s toys are available along with a giant chess set for young and old alike. The park also includes a seated picnic area to relax and observe.

BBQ & Sports Area

Adjacent to the play park is a designated BBQ area consisting of 5 separate BBQs. For more sporting guests there is a dedicated flood-lit sports area for lovers of the beautiful game, with other ball games also available.

All in all, a total Holiday Village experience has been created to make your stay here as happy and memorable as possible. With the relatively untapped and underrated Derbyshire countryside on the doorstep, and many restaurants and eateries nearby, we invite you to give us a try and be amongst our growing legions of delighted holiday makers.

Whilst we do accept adult only parties, Oakerthorpe Holiday Village is primarily aimed at families hence disruptive noise after 10pm is not permitted and will not be tolerated. If you feel you will be unable to comply with the above we would respectfully request you book elsewhere.
